“They don’t employ a project manager and end up with a mess” (Kevin McCloud, Sunday Times, 07.10.12)
Kevin McCloud (of Grand Designs) is a strong advocate of employing professional project management services. Even with modest projects, efficiency of scheduling, co-ordination of trades and supervision of works results in a financial saving with well outstrips the cost of consultancy services. The temptation to reduce project spend by relying upon a main contractor or by well meaning self management is great, but the result is often an over-run, over-spent overly stressful project.
